Its been almost a year and a half since I took up the post of area co-ordinator and its been one of the most interesting learning curves of my life.
I have a great team of volunteers who come from different walks of life and bring with them a knowledge and experience in different fields. Most of the work today is done by the volunteers with support and supervision through me.
As more people are aware of Advocacy we have received a lot of referrals over the last year from both people who want to be supported and from agencies like social work. Most of the referrals are for people with mental health problems and people with housing issues.
The staff team has regular and beneficial team meetings with Sheilis Mackay. I would like to thank Sheilis for her support and for always being there.
Finally, Fiona the administrator has made a lot of improvements over the last year which has made a big difference to the organisations a whole.
I am pleased to be part of the Advocacy Highland family.
